The Golden Ratio is a mysterious mathematical theory which has been explored by designers throughout history. From Luca Pacioli’s ‘De Devina Proporione’ to Joseph Muller Brockmann’s ‘Swiss Style’, the use of applied mathematics to conjure beautiful yet functional design has shown that mathematics can be not only methodical but also expressive. The Golden Ratio and the Root 2 Rectangle were used as a basis for the grid of this publication design. This book takes the reader on a journey through the marriage of mathematics and design.
